A transport invoicing system

JKdevs6 min read

A transport invoice is defined by the client company, the vehicle, the currency of the engagement, and the outstanding balance. JKdevs began this platform as its own software in mid-August 2026 and continues to develop it.

Transport invoicing is operational, not retail

The invoice is issued to the company that commissioned the haul. Vehicle registration, driver assignment, and the choice of MKD or EUR belong to the same engagement. Generic accounting software records a line item and a total. It does not model those lines as transports, dual-currency billing, or the receivables that operations require at the start of the working day.

Development started from that operating model: who is authorised to issue the invoice, which data must remain immutable after dispatch, and which figures must be available at the opening of the day. Those constraints determined the first functions.

Provisioning per firm

The platform is provisioned per firm. Each installation holds its own counterparties, price list, letterhead, and stamp. JKdevs can enable or disable individual modules per login. There is no public self-registration; a new instance is commissioned by us.

That is the development model. The first release covers core invoicing. Subsequent releases add the next capabilities in the order the product requires. Development does not stop at the version currently in operation.

Scope of the August release

The first release had to produce a reliable invoice, record payment, and present open balances in MKD and EUR independently. Reporting, fleet views, and the mobile client were deferred until an issued invoice could be treated as authoritative.

By the end of those first weeks the system held counterparties, a price list, non-duplicable invoice sequences, and precomputed totals so the opening dashboard does not recompute the full archive. Later articles build on that foundation.

Current product scope

The platform is in daily operation. It covers invoicing and collections, fleet and drivers, period-configurable statistics, PDF reporting, an installable mobile client, and a complete interface in English, German, or Macedonian.

The articles that follow document later releases: invoice processing, fleet, statistics, the mobile client, and three-language localisation. We continue to develop the product. Further notes will be published as additional capabilities ship.
